The Taste of New Zealand experience! This trip encompasses some of the very best that New Zealand has to offer. Starting in Auckland, the City of Sails which sprawls over volcanic hills and around twin harbours, offering an exhilarating mix of natural wonders and urban adventures. Next stop, the geothermal and volcanic wonderland of Rotorua, also home to first class mountain biking and stunning native forest. A fun-packed day follows in the capital city of Wellington, a compact city with a powerful mix of culture, history, nature and cuisine. Continuing to the South Island to enjoy world-famous Sauvignon Blanc wines in Marlborough and then across to hike, kayak or sail in the pristine waters of the Abel Tasman National Park. Heading further South the tour arrives in Queenstown, the perfect place to spend your last 2 nights in New Zealand with a smorgasbord of activities to choose from, all amongst stunning mountain and lake scenery and complemented by world class accommodation and cuisine.


Welcome to New Zealand! On arrival into Auckland at 06:00am a Corporate Cabs driver will be waiting in the international arrivals hall to transfer you to your central city accommodation. An early check in is possible at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to recover from your journey and explore the city. Robyn will meet you at your hotel at 8.45am after breakfast in your hotel and from there you will take a short walk to the ferry terminal for your 40 minute boat ride across to Waiheke Island. You will spend the day exploring the island's pristine beaches, stunning coastal headlands, and world class wineries. Wine tasting at 3 vineyards is included along with a gourmet lunch. For the more adventurous, there is the option to experience the award winning EcoZip Adventure (not included). After breakfast in your hotel we head South to Rotorua, renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. We can visit Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley, featuring bubbling mud pools and the 30m-tall Pohutu Geyser. It’s also home to a living Maori village and the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, with traditional wood carving and weaving schools. Later on, after dinner in the bustling hub of Eat Street, it's time for Redwoods Nightlights, one of New Zealand’s top design led tourism experiences that features 34 exquisite lanterns designed by world-renowned designer and sustainability champion David Trubridge. Floating between 9-20 metres above the forest floor, this award-winning, eco-tourism walk is 700 metres long and spans across 28 suspension bridges and 27 platforms. Today is Robyn's official rest day on the trip, so it's a short walk to the home of Volcanic Air on the Lakefront from where you will be taken on a helicopter adventure combining the thrill of landing on Mount Tarawera with a flight that includes spectacular aerial views of our stunning crater lakes, the renowned Tarawera Falls and the vibrant Waimangu and Wai-O-Tapu geothermal reserves. Leaving Wai-O-Tapu we descend to the hidden valley of Orakei Korako where, once landed, you will experience hot springs, gushing geysers and the natural beauty of this geothermal wonderland. Your return flight takes in views of farmland and the Paeroa mountain range before returning to the lakefront. Options for this afternoon include relaxing at the Polynesian Spa, New Zealand’s original and iconic geothermal bathing experience, or hiking in the Whakarewarewa Forest. Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand but it's not just the seat of central government. A short flight from Rotorua will leave you time to explore this delightful city. Surrounded by nature and fuelled by creative energy, Wellington is a compact city with a powerful mix of culture, history, nature and cuisine. Ride the cable car up the hill to Kelburn for amazing views over the city and enjoy an ice cream at the top. On the waterfront itself you’ll find New Zealand’s national museum. Te Papa, as it’s colloquially known, means ‘our place’ and is one of the best interactive museums in the world. Other attractions include the native reserve, Zealandia, the Weta Workshop, artists behind the Lord of the Rings and Hannah's Laneway, the world's tastiest laneway full of gourmet treats. This morning, sail between Wellington and Picton across the mighty Cook Strait and through the spectacular Marlborough Sounds on one of the most scenic ferry journeys in the world. Lunch at St Clair winery, responsible for putting New Zealand wine on the world map, and the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to perhaps enjoy a short walk in the Wither Hills or relax in the garden of the Moa craft brewery. Time for some casual exercise amongst the vines this morning with a guided cycle tour visiting 4 boutique wineries. Then a scenic van transfer across to Nelson, an extraordinary, vibrant region with a stunning natural landscape. We spend today exploring the stunning Abel Tasman National Park. You'll be driven to Marahau, the gateway to the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. We'll start with a hike along part of the Abel Tasman Track, one of New Zealand's Great Walks. The track is well formed and drops into several beautiful sheltered bays and golden sand beaches. At midday we have a packed lunch at Anchorage Bay and then we jump on board a catamaran for an exciting sail around the heads. Once back on shore, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Nelson. Morning flight from Nelson to Queenstown, arriving in time for a short drive to the rustic-chic Mora Wines vineyard for a stunning lunch-time culinary experience. Mora (Latin) means to linger, to take pause. The restaurant offers the opportunity to take time, to slow down and enjoy good food and wine with family and friends, using New Zealand’s finest sustainable ingredients, sourced in and around the four coasts of the South Island. After lunch we'll head to Arrowtown, charming and quirky, a delightful gold rush village nestled beside the sparkling Arrow River and below magnificent peaks. Dinner : Own Dinner Stay : The Rees Hotel, a particular favourite of Coco and Frans and you'll get to enjoy the stunning view across to The Remarkables mountain range for the next 2 nights.

Today the opportunities are endless! Surrounded by towering mountains, positioned on the edge of a lake, Queenstown is a hub of adventure, thrumming with adrenaline and an omnipresent sense of fun. It's recommended to explore the outdoors in some way during the day, with options including horsetrekking, hiking, kayaking, jetboating and biking. Then tonight we'll head into town for our final dinner at one of Queenstown's premier restaurants. Queenstown generally stays pretty lively into the early hours so after dinner there's always the option to enjoy more of the nightlife on offer.
