Thinking about a guided cycling tour but not sure if it's for you? Our guided Cycle Trail and Road Cycling tours include everything you need for a memorable and adventure-filled holiday. Whether you're a beginner, or an experienced cyclist, here are our top 5 reasons you’ll love joining a guided cycling tour in New Zealand with Adventure South NZ.

1. Convenience

Forget the stress of researching the best cycling route for hours on end, or where the next town is to find food, leave the boring stuff to us so you can focus on the exciting ride ahead. Joining a guided cycle trail or road cycling tour will allow you to discover the highlights of a region that you might not be familiar with, as well as the hidden gems away from the crowds.

2. The people you meet

Another standout is the people you meet from all over the globe! If you're a solo traveller or even travelling with a spouse or friend, when you join a supported tour, you know you are travelling with people who have a desire to see the same destinations as you do – in the style you like. The camaraderie and companionship that is built between fellow cyclists as the trip goes on is priceless.

"It is less the cycling we are sad to wave goodbye to than our fellow riders, each one of whom feels like they have become a friend over the past six days"

- Joe Shute, The Telegraph.

3. Comfort

We've already handpicked the best accommodation and restaurants to make sure you get a high quality experience and have somewhere comfortable to relax and unwind after a long day on the bike. Your meals are catered for each day, (aside from the odd lunch as we like to let you choose where to eat where possible) and snacks are always provided to keep you energised on the bike.

4. Experienced guides

Secret spots, bike maintenance, tips and the best of laughs, it's always reassuring to know you are in safe hands with our experienced guides. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring that have the best possible experience and are always there to show you where to go next or to tell you about the wilderness areas of New Zealand. We aim to have 2 guides on each trip so there's always someone nearby should you need help, and if you ask nicely, they'll even change your tyre tube should you be unlucky and get a puncture!

5. Ride at your own pace with the support vehicle

If you, or one of your riding partners feels like calling it a day, they can simply ride the best and travel the rest. Cyclists can ride as far or as little as they feel comfortable, knowing that the support vehicle is never far away. Our support vehicle is not only there for resting your legs, but lets us flip the direction of a ride if there is a strong head wind, and will get you to all of the hidden gems along the trail that are out of pedals reach.
