Errol and his cycling partner kicked off the new year riding the longest cycle trail in New Zealand, the Alps 2 Ocean. Errol was up for the challenge, completing the most difficult section of the trail, Tarnbrae Track and giving Adventure South a glowing 5-star review. An incredible accomplishment for 77 years young. The trip was superb in all respects - Lewis was an excellent guide, our travelling companions were great, the scenery was consistently beautiful, lovely weather with some helpful tail-winds, and the accommodation was of a high standard.

Being a small group, time pressure was never an issue and we were able to cycle at comfortable pace. The snacks available en route were greatly appreciated.

Lewis's knowledge of the route enabled him to give sound advice on attempting the more challenging parts of the route, to ensure our safety. 

 


The hardest section of the trip for over-seventies was the Tarnbrae Track, especially the up-hill section from Lake Ohau Lodge. 

 

We would certainly recommend Adventure South to others considering the Alps to Ocean journey.
