Meet our team

Reliability is the key to our team.

Whether talking to our office team, or our guides in the field, everyone at Adventure South is committed to providing you with the best possible experience. All of our staff are keen travellers at heart - we know what you're seeking out of your experience - and we are here first and foremost to help you get the most out of your time in our wonderful wilderness.

  • Philip Wyndham General Manager

Phil has been involved in the travel and adventure tourism industry for many years including guiding, sales, marketing, industry liaison and business management. He has a passion for trail running and mountain biking but is an all round outdoor guy. His enthusiasm for encouraging people to get out and be their best self in the outdoors is infectious.

  • Sandra Appleby Sales

Sandra is often the first person to greet you when you contact us. She loves all things outdoors and has cycled the length of Britain, through Pakistan, South America, London to Istanbul, China, Tibet, Northern India and Spain. She loves inspiring people with her cycling and hiking stories and organising your adventures.

  • Louise Vargaya-Conza Reservations Co-ordinator

Louise is camp mum. She ensures all of our clients are re-energised with delicious meals and can rest their wary bones in a comfy bed after each day’s activities on tour. She organises the accommodation on tour as well as any pre and post tour accommodation. Louise also guides cycling tours over the winter months for us in Peru with her Peruvian husband Rudy.

  • Liam Stroud Operations Manager

Liam graduated with a Degree in Criminology, hung that expensive piece of paper on the wall & pursued his career in the outdoors. His guiding adventures have taken him throughout Canada, Mexico & the USA. He now calls NZ home, originally guiding and bike wrenching for Adventure South before taking on the Operations Manager role.

  • Kaye Wilson Accounts Administrator

Kaye is the number cruncher of the team and she has a serious chocolate addiction. She processes all of our accounts, and she emails out the friendly reminders when the balance of a tour is due for your trips. Kaye also pays the Adventure South team - so we keep her well stocked with Whittakers chocolate.

  • Bas Kruisselbrink Guide

Bas was born in the Netherlands and was literally raised on a bicycle. At 16 he cycled with a friend from Holland to Spain and Portugal and that was the start of a life full of cycling adventures. Bas loves sharing his cycle expertise and speaks Dutch, English and German and is proficient in French and Spanish.

  • Steve Tulley Guide

Guiding allows Steve to continue his life long interest in the outdoors - including mountaineering, tramping, skiing, fishing and cycling. When he’s not guiding he’s still lucky enough to be working outdoors in his own beekeeping business. Steve’s overseas travel includes trips touring in Europe, climbing trips to Tibet and Nepal, Chamonix and the Italian Alps.

  • Rossco Daubney Guide

Rossco loves all things sporting & the great outdoors, encompassed with an appreciation of photography and wine – not necessarily in that order. His interests include multisport, sea kayaking, hiking, biking as well as discovering ‘new’ places. Between tours he can be found with his ‘waterfront apartment’ aka campervan at the Marlborough Sounds.

  • Angela Sexton Guide

Ange began her career guiding in her home of Colorado, in the highest peaks of the Rocky Mountains. She has since made the Southern Hemisphere her home, guiding in both NZ and Australia. She is fortunate enough to share her passion for mountain climbing & road cycling with her husband Peter.

  • Peter Sexton Guide

The reward of a terrific meal, a bottle of wine or a block of chocolate are likely to be found in any adventure where Peter's involved. Having left the corporate world behind years ago, nowadays he spends his time amongst the mountain peaks and hilly road's with his wife Angela (also a guide) in between guiding in New Zealand and Australia.

  • Chris Cameron Guide

Born and bred on a farm in the North Island, Chris trained in Physical Education and Spanish and taught for many years in secondary schools, making the switch to guiding 5 years ago. She has a real passion for nature, cycling, hiking, kayaking and skiing and loves sharing her adventures with travellers in our spectacular New Zealand.

  • Merisha Moora Guide

Merisha was born in Holland and raised exploring NZ from age six. Never one to stay in one place for too long, she worked first as a commercial pilot, before leaving on a permanent travelling sabbatical, living a year in Brazil, climbing in Argentina and teaching yoga. NZ is home and she loves sharing it with everyone on tour.

  • Sue Wills Guide

After more than 20 years spent running her own retail business and raising 3 children, Sue decided it was time for a change. Guiding fuels her passion for the outdoors and she loves getting out and exploring - whether it's by bike, on foot, on a paddle board, a kayak or a pair of skis. When she's not guiding, Sue hosts guests at her idyllic lifestyle block in South Canterbury.

  • Shaun Guyton Guide

Born and raised on New Zealand's South Island, Shaun has worked as a mountain guide, ski patroller, teacher and public sector manager. When not guiding with us he can be found ski touring, x-biking, kite boarding or tinkering in his workshop making vintage skis. He has a real passion and insight for New Zealand and loves sharing this with his tours.

  • Dave Monk     Guide

You won't find Dave living within the confines of a white picket fence and 3 bedroom suburban villa. What makes Dave tick is his passion for life in the outdoors; be it hiking, surfing with his sons, or scheming up his next tour cycling adventure with wife Rachel. Dave's love for tour cycling, ensure he will probably love your tour just as much as you do.

  • Rachel Monk     Guide

Rachel arrived in NZ 20 years ago with just a backpack, thirst for adventure and passion for travel. Along the way she collected the Kiwi husband Dave, 2 young boys, a bus called 'home' and $200 for passing GO! Since then, she has tour cycled in more than 20 countries and spends her time with her family enjoying the simple things in life.

  • Fiona Eunson    Guide

Living and travelling in parts of Australia, the Americas, Asia, the UK and Europe, Fiona was inspired to return to NZ to study Ecology and Resource Management. She worked in this field for several years before swapping the office for life on the road. Fiona loves guiding and sharing her passion for NZ's unique natural environment.

  • Sean Mulvany     Guide

Born in the UK, raised in Germany with Irish heritage, Seán was always likely to end up living somewhere else. His Kiwi partner made the decision simple and the Marlborough Sounds is now definitely home. From military background, Seán has also worked in outdoor education and spends his winters working locally in the ski industry.

  • Jan Kirkpatrick Guide

Jan embraced an outdoor career by completing a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation, Leadership and Management, through Aoraki Polytechnic. She then developed an outdoor programme for people over 50, which she ran for 10 years. It was a natural progression for her to move into guiding and share her love for this wonderful outdoor environment.

  • Fiona Newsome Guide

Fiona is a keen social cyclist, outdoorsy lass, loves showing & sharing the beautiful surroundings of NZ with others. A compassionate heart with 8 years helping a children’s HIV community in SE Asia, she’s a “jack of all trades but a master of none”. With management experience this makes her a handy, creative, positive & humorous human to be around.

  • Tim de Jong Guide

Tim was our Operations & Sales manager and now he’s back with us guiding. He has many years on the road as a cycle tour guide, leading tours throughout New Zealand as well as in Australia, Vietnam, Italy & the USA. He had a special passion for Vietnam having traveled & guided there for many years.

  • Wanda Vivequin Guide

Born in Holland and raised in Kenya, Lebanon, Canada and New Zealand, Wanda developed her love for travel early on. She loves nothing more than sharing her passion for New Zealand with visitors. Wanda is an avid cyclist, hiker, skier and lover of the Himalaya where she has visited and guided for 15 years.

  • Nicole Mulcahy Guide

Nicole is a born and bred kiwi from Timaru. Her passion is guiding people through New Zealand and giving them a unique experience of her beautiful backyard. She enjoys guiding trips for Adventure South in New Zealand and spending the winter guiding in Central Australia.
